During your treatment, you are likely to meet all the doctors across the medical team here at the St George Neuroendocrine Clinic. Medical oncologists are specialist doctors trained in the treatment of cancer including chemotherapy and targeted treatment. Nuclear medicine physicians are specialist physicians who work with radiopharmaceuticals to diagnose and treat disease.
We also work with upper gastrointestinal surgeons who operate on neuroendocrine tumours, radiation oncologists who treat cancer with high energy therapeutic x-rays and specialised interventional radiologists who perform minimally invasive image-guided procedures. We are all keen to work together to ensure our patients receive the best care, often with multiple treatment modalities during their cancer journey

Dr David Thomas has a practice that focuses on the care of people with gastro – intestinal, Neuroendocrine (NET) and CNS (Brain) cancers. He has a special interest in looking after patients with cancers of the colon, pancreas and biliary tract and stomach and oesophagus. He is part of a Neuroendocrine Tumour (NET) Clinic and Multi-disciplinary team that provides treatment and care for people across NSW.
David graduated from Sydney University in 1995 and completed his Medical Oncology training through St George Hospital in 2003. In 2004 he worked as a Fellow in the Gastrointestinal Cancers Unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital. He now works at both St George and Sutherland Hospitals as a Staff Specialist and in Private Practice at St George Oncology Associates and the Southside Cancer Care Centre.

Dr Jennifer Lim is a medical oncologist who focuses on the care of neuroendocrine tumours and organising STING. She completed training in medical oncology in 2019 (FRACP) at the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and Concord Hospitals and undertook a clinical fellowship at the Kinghorn Cancer Centre (St Vincent’s Hospital). She has been working as a staff specialist at St George Hospital since 2020 and and has submitted her PhD, undertaken at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research.

Dr Katrin Sjoquist is a medical oncologist whose practice focuses on Gastrointestinal Cancers and Neuroendocrine Cancers. Dr Sjoquist is experienced in the management of cancers of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, hepatobiliary tract (cholangiocarcinoma) and all Neuroendocrine (NET) tumour sites.
Dr Sjoquist completed training in medical oncology in 2010 (FRACP) and subsequently completed a fellowship in clinical trials research and evidence-based medicine at the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, obtaining a Master of Clinical Trials Research (USyd).
She is a lead investigator on several national and international trials of treatments to improve outcomes for patients with Gastrointestinal and Gynaecological cancers. In addition, Dr Sjoquist is committed to training and mentoring junior doctors and specialists, through her roles as a college examiner, steering committee member for the ACORD workshop, and Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney.

Sarennya is a dual trained medical oncologist and nuclear medicine physician, working at St George Hospital, Sydney. She studied medicine at UNSW, completed advanced training in medical oncology and nuclear medicine at a number of hospitals including St George and St Vincent’s Hospital
She has been awarded her PhD through the University of Sydney examining the role of PSMA as a diagnostic and therapeutic target. Her interest is in the current and future role of theranostics in the cancer treatment paradigm
